Tours and Open Houses
Families that are interested in Peter's Place are encouraged to sign up for a tour by clicking HERE. Tours are hosted throughout the year by the Program Director and are held during school when the program is in session. During the tour you will learn about the history and philosophy of our program and will have an opportunity to ask questions. Tours are for adults only and attendance at at a tour is not required to apply but encouraged as they provide valuable information about our program that may assist you in deciding whether Peter's Place is a good match for your child and family.
An Open House is hosted each year in October and January. These events are for families who are applying for enrollment in the fall. Please do not sign up for an open house if your child will not be 2 years 6 months by our first day of school in late August/early September. The open house incorporates the same information as the tour and also includes an introduction to our teachers who are in attendance and a video showcasing our program. You may sign up for the Open House HERE.
Both tours and our open house are for parents only. However, infants are welcome.
Submit an Application
Applications may be submitted at any time, and a tour or open house is not required prior to submittal. You may apply either online or through the mail by clicking on one of the buttons below. Upon receiving your application and non-refundable $75 application fee, your child will be placed in our applicant pool. We encourage you to attend one of our tours or open house during the school year.
Admission Process
Because Peter’s Place is a small school with a maximum enrollment of 58 children, we are not able to accept all who apply. Currently enrolled students and siblings of current and previously enrolled families receive priority in the admissions process. Each class has a balance of boys and girls and a range of ages. We strive to create a student population that reflects the city in which we live. Other factors being equal, we do not screen applicants for admission.
In March, once we have assessed the number of available spaces open in each class, we will contact the families of children for whom we have space available. At that time, families of admitted children will be given an opportunity to observe a class while it is in session and talk with the Director. Parents will have one week after their enrollment offer to submit a deposit and contract to hold a space for their child.
Once we are fully enrolled, families for whom we do not have placement will receive a letter asking they contact Peter’s Place if they would like to remain on our wait list. Changes in our enrollment occur throughout the spring and summer, so families who remain interested in our program are encouraged to remain in our applicant pool.
